Description

Circa 1775; earlier 19th shop at ground. 3-storey and basement, 4-bay classical tenement with shop at ground. Droved cream sandstone ashlar (stonecleaned) with polished dressings; rusticated quoins. Common stair door to left; 3-bay shopfront to right with splayed steps to corniced door and windows advanced and architraved. Decorative cast-iron balconies at 2nd floor. Piend-roofed earlier 19th century canted dormer to right.

Projecting rubble gable to rear.

Timber sash and case 12-pane windows. Roof piended to E; large stone stack to E; grey slates.

INTERIOR: divided former 1st floor Drawing Room with original enriched plaster ceiling.

PIERS AND RAILINGS: early 20th century cast-iron railings to front and steps; ashlar piers.
