Description

26 Trafalgar Street is a late 19th-century, four-storey building that originally served as a bakery. It features a five-bay palazzo-style street front constructed from bull-faced cream ashlar with polished dressings.

The left bay has a large, roll-moulded, round-headed doorframe at the ground level, which is currently filled in with two modern doors, and there is a round-headed window above it. To the right, there is a two-storey arcade with roll-moulded architraves and sunken panel aprons that separate the floors. The ground level has replacement windows and doors, except for the left bay, which retains its original features, although the shadow of a sign for "LYON'S" is still visible above. A moulded cill course on the second floor appears as a cornice for the first floor, and all upper floor bays have bipartite windows with chamfered arrises. The building is topped with a cornice that has a crested parapet and moulded ashlar coping.

The windows are timber tilt and swing casement types.
