Description

The Dry Dock at Edinburgh Dock, located in Leith Docks, was designed by A M Rendel and G Robertson and built between 1877 and 1881. It is an oval-shaped dry dock measuring approximately 300 feet by 40 feet, featuring a curved eastern wall and timber and iron floodgates with a gangway above. The side walls are stepped, and there are steps and haulage channels on either side of the curved eastern wall. Iron railings are present, and there are remains of machinery flanking the entrance passage.
