Bonded Warehouse, 10 Pattison Street, Edinburgh

The Bonded Warehouse on Pattison Street in Edinburgh, built in 1897, is a large four-storey building with an attic and an M-gabled roof, constructed from polychrome brick. The exterior features red brick with white brick margins and painted concrete lintels.

The northeast elevation facing Pattison Street has seven bays, with a tall ground floor that includes a rectangular opening in the fifth bay. The wallhead of the center bay is raised in a two-storey hoist gable. There are single windows throughout, and a shouldered wallhead stack is located on the outer right. Circular iron tie plates are positioned above the first floor.

The southwest elevation at the rear also has seven bays with single windows and includes cast-iron skylights. The southeast elevation facing Poplar Lane features an M-gabled design with six bays, a tall doorway raised off the ground in the fourth bay, single windows, and circular iron tie plates above the first floor. The northwest elevation is M-gabled but is blank.

The building has six-pane barred fixed timber windows and a slate roof. Inside, the structure includes cast-iron columns and steel beam construction with timber floors.
