Description

Albert Dock, located in Leith Docks, Edinburgh, was designed by engineers A M Rendel and G Robertson in 1869. This rectangular-shaped wet dock measures 1,100 feet long and 450 feet wide, featuring masonry walls. To the east, there are two masonry slipways. The quayside is stone flagged and setted, equipped with bollards, railway tracks, and three travelling cranes, each with an 8-ton capacity, installed in 1950. To the west, there is a cast-iron, plate girder parallel swing bridge, which includes post and chain barriers along the perimeter and a kiosk for the gearing house flanking the bridge.
