Description

The Swing Bridge between Albert and Edinburgh Docks in Leith Docks, Edinburgh, was designed by A M Rendel and G Robertson and constructed between 1874 and 1881. It features a large U-shaped wet dock, with the southern leg infilled and a dry dock located at the central jamb. The dimensions of the dock are approximately 1500 feet by 650 feet, with masonry walls and a quayside that is flagged and setted, complete with bollards. To the west, there is a cast-iron swing bridge that connects to Albert Dock, which is built using plate girder, parallel construction.
