44 Charlotte Street, Helensburgh

44 Charlotte Street in Helensburgh is a later 19th-century single-storey and attic villa with three bays and a gabled design. The building is constructed from cream sandstone rubble, with ashlar stonework on the south elevation. It features a base course, moulded arrises, ashlar mullioned windows, bracketted eaves, and bargeboarded gables.

On the south elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a pilastered and corniced doorway at the center, leading to a panelled door and a half-glazed vestibule door. To the right, there is a canted window with a cornice, while to the left, a slightly advanced bipartite window also features a cornice. Above the doorway, the steeply pitched gable includes a round-arched window, with a pendant at the apex. Flanking the gable are dormers, each with a bipartite window and round-arched lights supported by pilastered mullions.

The east elevation has a timber-framed lean-to conservatory attached, which includes plate glass sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate, and there are corniced end stacks with moulded cans.
