Description

The Lindens, located at 9, 11, and 15 Victoria Road in Helensburgh, is a later 19th-century, two-storey, asymmetrical three-bay villa featuring classical details. The building is constructed of cream stugged and snecked sandstone, with the south elevation rendered and painted. It has ashlar dressings, a base course, chamfered arrises, and window margins. The ground floor windows on the south elevation are corniced, while those on the first floor are architraved. The eaves are overhanging.

On the south (entrance) elevation, there is an advanced pilastered porch at the center, complete with a cornice and blocking course, leading to a panelled door. To the left, there is a tripartite corniced window on the ground floor and another window above the porch. A slightly advanced bay on the left features a full-height canted window with a 1-2-1 light configuration.

The west elevation has a window at both the ground and first floors to the right, and a slightly advanced bay to the left with a window on both levels. The south elevation primarily features two-pane sash and case windows, although some have been replaced with uPVC. The roof is covered with grey slate and has corniced ashlar stacks with moulded cans, along with cast-iron rainwater goods.

Inside, the villa boasts fine plasterwork. The gatepiers are made of red sandstone ashlar, square in plan with chamfered angles and stepped conical caps.
