Description

69 and 71 Victoria Street is a mid-19th century tenement building that features classical detailing. It is a symmetrical, three-storey structure with an attic and four bays, forming part of a terrace that includes a shop and licensed premises on the ground floor. The exterior is finished in painted render with painted margins, and it has a raised base course, corniced eaves, and a blocking course. The first-floor openings have corniced, architraved surrounds, with a pediment at the center, while the second-floor openings also feature architraved surrounds and projecting cills.

On the north elevation, there is a single door centered at the ground level that provides access to the upper flats, with a mosaic-tile floor detail. The shop is located off-center to the left, and the licensed premises is off-center to the right. The building has a regular arrangement of windows in all bays on the first and second floors, and there are three-light canted dormers in the outer left and right bays.

The windows are predominantly two-pane timber sash and case, although the dormer glazing has been modernized. The roof is covered with grey slate and features coped ridge stacks on the east and west sides, along with circular cans. The interior was not seen in 1996.
