Description
24-26 New Bridge Street is an early 19th-century tenement building that stands three storeys high with an attic and features three bays. The ground floor is used for commercial purposes and is finished in painted render. Notable architectural details include a string course at the shopfront cornice, a cill course for the second-floor windows, an eaves course, a cornice, a blocking course, and pilasters that divide the bays at the shopfront.
On the southeast elevation, there is a central entrance to the shopfront on the left, which consists of a two-leaf timber door flanked by shop windows, and an arch-headed close to the outer right. The first and second floors have a regular arrangement of windows, while the attic features two canted dormers. The entrance to No 24 is accessed via a close, with a timber door and a three-light letterbox fanlight.
The shopfront windows on the ground floor are made of plate glass, while the first and second floors have timber sash and case windows with plate glass. The attic has four-pane timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes stone skews, coped gablehead stacks, and circular cans. The interiors were not seen in 1998.
