Description
This building at 2 Academy Street Lane in Ayr is a later 18th century, three-storey, three-bay rectangular-plan tenement constructed of rendered rubble sandstone. The openings are square-headed.
On the northeast elevation, there is a central boarded entrance, with a single window directly above it on the first floor. A smaller, non-aligned window is located on the second floor, and there are flanking openings at all floors, including a two-leaf timber entrance on the ground floor to the right, along with an additional inner window.
The northwest, southwest, and southeast elevations were not visible in 1999. The building features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, some of which are boarded. The roof was also not seen in 1999. The interior was not observed during the 1999 assessment.
