Description
18-20 Fullarton Street in Ayr is an early 19th century, two-storey and attic, four-bay tenement. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, featuring a base course, eaves course, cornice, and strip quoins. The openings have painted margins.
On the northeast (entrance) elevation, there are square-headed entrances located at the outer left and the penultimate bay to the right, with timber doors and a narrow letterbox fanlight above the door to No 18. Above these entrances, there are single windows aligned on the first floor, with a square, smaller window to the outer left. The remaining bays have regular fenestration at both the ground and first floors. The attic features two piended dormers.
The ground floor has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, while the first floor predominantly has modern glazing. The attic contains plate glass timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered in grey slate and has coped brick ridge stacks with circular cans.
The interior was not seen in 1998.
