Description

63-67 Victoria Street is a mid-19th century tenement building that is part of a terrace and features shops on the ground floor. It is a symmetrical, three-storey structure with an attic and four bays, finished in painted render with painted margins. The building has a raised base course and corniced eaves. The first-floor windows are corniced and have architraved surrounds, while the second-floor openings also feature architraved surrounds.

The north elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a centrally located door that provides access to the upper flats, with a mosaic-tile floor detail flanking the shops. The building is regularly fenestrated across all bays on the first and second floors, with three-light canted dormers positioned in the outer left and right bays.

The first-floor windows are timber sash and case with plate glass on the upper panes and two panes on the lower. The second-floor windows consist of two-pane timber sash and case windows that are offset to the left of centre, along with replacement timber glazing that is offset to the right. The roof is covered in grey slate and features a central corniced wallhead stack on the north side, which has a splayed base, decorative fluting, and circular cans. There are also coped ridge stacks on the east and west sides, each with circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1996.
