Description
The Medal Starters Box at Monifieth Golf Links is a single-storey, three-bay pavilion built in 1911, located to the west of the golf course. It has a roughly rectangular plan and features a distinctive veranda with a gambrel roof. The building has a deep, chamfered brick base, with timber framing and rendered walls above. Overhanging eaves are supported by slender, stop-chamfered square timber columns and elliptical beams, creating a continuous veranda with timber boarding on the soffit. The northern corner section is advanced, and each elevation has a panelled timber door with a three-pane rectangular fanlight; the southwest elevation also includes a window to the right. There is a continuous timber bench along the structure.
The windows are predominantly two-pane below three-pane configurations in timber, with two-pane timber sash and case windows in the advanced corner section. The roof is covered with slate and has a gambrel design.
Inside, as seen in 2012, the toilets feature tongue and groove timber boarding to the dado.
