Description

Ladies Panmure Golf Club, located at 7 and 11 Princes Street in Monifieth, was designed by James MacLaren and built between 1870 and 1872, with an extension added to the north for clubkeeper's accommodation around 1890. This single-storey golf clubhouse has an irregular plan and is constructed from stugged, squared rubble, featuring painted and tooled margins, along with some long and short dressings.

On the east elevation, the original building is to the left and includes a base course and a mutule eaves course. It features a canted window with four segmental-arched lights and a platform roof adorned with decorative cast-iron brattishing. To the right, there is a lower, four-bay set-back section that serves as the clubkeeper's accommodation, which includes a bipartite window on the outer right and a rendered lean-to in the center.

The south elevation has two segmental-arched windows with margins. The west elevation features an advanced porch to the right with a segmental-arched window, and an entrance on the right return that includes a fanlight. To the left, there is a rendered flat roof entrance porch flanked by windows.

The north elevation has a vertically boarded timber lean-to that spans almost the full width of the elevation. The building has replacement timber sash and case windows with various glazing patterns and a piended slate roof, which is topped with three coped stacks that have octagonal cans.

Inside, as seen in 2013, the entrance hall and principal clubroom are lined with timber club boxes. The clubroom features a plain timber chimneypiece and a deeply cut foliate cornice.
