Description
The Cricket Pavilion at Manderston House, built around 1900 with additions made in 1999, is a single-storey, rectangular-plan timber structure featuring a verandah. It has slatted timber on a rendered base and includes two pairs of part-glazed, two-leaf doors at the center. Flanking windows are part shuttered, with a bipartite window to the right and a large quadripartite window to the left. There is also a narrower door on the outer right. The left return has a blank gable, while the right gabled return features a door, a window, and a small window. The verandah is supported by timber posts and has lattice timber railings up to dado height, along with a pentice roof that includes shallow segmental barge boards. The gableheads display mock timber framing, and the roof is covered with corrugated metal. To the right, there is a longer addition that includes a lawn mower shed at the far right. A decorative rainwater hopper in the center is dated 1899 and 1999.
Inside, the pavilion has a simple timber interior with timber benches and racks for bats and wickets, along with an ornamental corner sink.
