Description
The gate piers at Buxley, Manderston House, were designed by John Kinross around 1900. There are two identical pairs of gate piers located to the west of the dairy, which line the path to the formal garden. Each pair is made of ashlar sandstone and features fleuron carved studs on a quatrefoil panelled frieze, rising into a gablet cap with rolled string courses. The inner faces have panelled buttresses with curved coping. The outer pair of gate piers is adorned with ornate, two-leaf wrought-iron gates that have climbing roses entwined in the railings.
