Description
Cowhythe Farmhouse is a house built in the later 19th century, likely by A and W Reid from Elgin. It is a single storey and attic structure with three bays. The building is constructed of rubble with significant use of tooled ashlar dressings. The centre bay is slightly advanced and features a steeply gabled design with a corniced entrance. On either side, there are canted bay windows faced with ashlar, and the outer bays have canted dormers. A small attic light is situated in the centre of the finialled gable. The windows have 12-pane glazing, and the house has coped end stacks and a slate roof.
