Description
Earlsmill House is a two-storey, three-bay house built between 1860 and 1870, likely designed by A and W Reid. The building features coursed tooled rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. The central bay is slightly advanced and includes a projecting ground floor porch with a round-headed entrance and a piended roof. The outer bays have three-light windows with wide angle pilasters. On the east side, a canted window rises to full height, with blind fenestration on the outer facets. The windows have two-pane glazing, and the house is topped with tall corniced shaped stacks and a shallow pitched piended slate roof, which includes some jerkin-headed gables and projecting eaves.
The property also has gatepiers, which are a pair of square tooled ashlar gatepiers topped with shallow pyramidal caps. There are also a pair of simple cast-iron carriage gates.
