Description
Nos. 59 and 60 are cottages located in Whitemire Village, Darnaway, and were built by A and W Reid in 1899. These single-storey cottages form a 5-bay range and are constructed from rubble with tooled dressings in the attic. The centre features a projecting gabled bay with a bipartite window on the ground floor. Each cottage has an entrance porch, with No 59 on the right and No 60 on the left, supported by wooden columns. The outer bays also have bipartite windows with horizontal 8-pane glazing. The cottages have coped end and ridge stacks and are topped with slate roofs. There is a modern extension at the east gable of No 59 and another at the rear of No 60.
