Description

Dated 1739. 2-storey and dormerless attic over raised basement, 5-bay house on sloping site, with gable end to High Street. Harled with ashlar margins. Centre door; much altered ground floor fenestration. Regular narrow windows in lst floor, paired in outer bays. Ground, lst and 2 attic windows in return gable to High Street; also modern wing with garage in ground floor and 2 windows in lst. Plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows.

Inscribed and dated plaque above centre lst floor window; angle mural sundial at Back Path/High Street corner. Crowstepped E gable with substantial coped stack; renewed stack at W gable. Slate roof with modern roof lights;

Subdivided: 18 High Street (upper section) accessed at ground floor door to rear, off High Street.

INTERIOR: largely reconfigured. Evidence of wide segmental arch exposed within internal wall to 1st floor.
