Description
Old Corrimony in Glenurquhart is a house dated 1740, featuring two storeys and an attic. It has a symmetrical south-facing facade with five bays, all covered in harl. The central entrance is obscured by a later glazed timber porch that includes a top light, which accommodates an armorial panel and a marriage stone set above a moulded doorpiece. The doorway has a drawbar and a modern door.
The windows are narrow, with the first-floor windows being longer, likely lengthened at some point. The ground and first-floor windows are paired in the outer bays, and there is a single first-floor window in the west return gable. The house has three piended dormers and features six and nine-pane glazing. It has end stacks and a slate roof.
At the rear, there is a single-storey and attic range added in the late 18th or early 19th century, which has later piended dormers breaking the wallhead, along with ridge and end stacks, also covered with a slate roof.
Inside, some original ceiling cornices remain in the front ground floor rooms. The timber stair features square newels of heavy section topped by ball finials, with the stairwell panelled to handrail level and corresponding pilaster-like newels at the corners, along with turned balusters.
