Description

Dated 1740. 2-storey and attic, symmetrical S facing 5-bay

house. All harled. Centre entrance masked by later glazed

timber porch with top light accommodating armorial panel

and marriage stone set above moulded doorpiece; drawbar to

doorway; modern door.

Narrow windows, longer in 1st floor (probably lengthened);

ground and 1st floor fenestration paired in outer bays. Single

1st floor window in west return gable; 3 piended dormers.

6 and 9-pane glazing. End stacks; slate roof.

Late 18th/early 19th single storey and attic range extends to

rear with later piended dormers breaking wallhead; ridge and

end stacks; slate roof.

Interior; some original ceiling cornices survive in front

ground floor rooms. Timber stair with square newels of heavy

section topped by ball finials; stairwell panelled to handrail

level with corresponding pilaster-like newels at corners,

turned balusters.
