Description
37 North High Street in Portsoy is an early to mid-18th century house that has undergone some later alterations. It is a two-storey building with a dormerless attic, featuring a gable end facing North High Street and a front elevation that includes a central door. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar margins, some of which are chamfered. The windows are arranged in a slightly irregular pattern, with the east gable featuring a single window on both the ground and first floors, as well as a pair of small attic lights. The windows have 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case frames.
The west gable has a crowstepped design and includes a single attic light. The east gable has flat skews, and there are renewed stacks at both ends of the building. The roof is covered with slate.
At the northwest corner, there is a small single-storey lean-to extension that is also harled and has a slate roof.
