Description
5 Shorehead in Portsoy is a two-storey, three-bay house built in 1899. It has a gable end facing Shorehead, with the entrance located on the long west elevation, accessed through an archway that connects it to number 7 Shorehead. The north gable and east elevation are white painted and lined to resemble ashlar, featuring contrasting painted concrete dressings, margins, and long and short detailing. The west entrance front is constructed of rubble, also with contrasting painted concrete dressings. The central door is flanked by windows, and there are two first-floor windows that break the wallhead as gabled dormers in the outer bays. The north gable has single windows on both the ground and first floors, with four-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. The north gable features painted concrete crowsteps, coped end stacks, and a slate roof with a pottery ridge.
