19 Shorehead, Stonehaven

19 Shorehead in Stonehaven is a late 17th century house with later alterations. It is a two-storey building with a cellar, featuring a three-bay rectangular plan situated on sloping ground, facing the harbour. The exterior is harled with ashlar margins and has chamfered arrises.

On the south elevation, the ground level is partly obscured by communal steps and a pathway that rises to the west. There are three small, irregularly placed windows at the ground level, while the first floor has regular fenestration. Above, there are two modern catslide dormer windows.

The east elevation, which faces Shorehead, has a gabled design with a window on the outer right at each floor.

The north elevation, which serves as the entrance, features a door to the left of a modern single-storey addition that projects at the ground level to the right. Above, there is a single window in the centre, possibly a stair window.

The windows are modern timber sash and case-effect with plate glass glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped gablehead stacks with cans, as well as ashlar-coped skews with moulded skewputts.
