1 Castle Street, Stonehaven

1 Castle Street in Stonehaven is a mid-18th century, two-storey, three-bay terraced house. It features a Victorian gablet hood above the entrance door and is finished with lined stucco, including a base course.

On the northwest elevation, there is a part-glazed timber door located centrally on the ground floor, with windows in the flanking bays on both floors. The first-floor windows are positioned close to the eaves. To the outer left, there is a blank bay of a lean-to.

The northeast elevation has a steeply pitched gabled design, with two windows in a lean-to outshot at ground level. The windows throughout the building are timber sash and case, featuring a 2-pane upper sash and plate glass glazing patterns. The roof is covered with grey slates and includes two small traditional rooflights. There is a coped whitewashed chimney stack with a thackstane and cans, as well as ashlar coped skews with moulded skewputts.
