Description
26 North High Street in Portsoy is an early to mid-18th century single-storey dwelling built over a raised basement, situated on steeply sloping ground. The building features an irregular six-bay street frontage, with harled walls and painted rendered margins. The narrow doorway is flanked on the left (north) by two small windows and on the right by three windows. There is an additional entry to the raised basement on the east elevation, and two doorways are located in the south gable. The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The building has harled end stacks, flat skews with crude skewputts, and a steeply pitched slate roof with a pottery ridge. The property was restored in 1967.
