Description
The Shore Inn, located on Church Street in Portsoy, likely has its origins in the mid 18th century but has undergone later remodeling. It is a two-storey building with an attic and features a three-bay northern elevation facing Shorehead, which is regularly fenestrated. There is a side entrance in the eastern gable, and a rear wing that forms an L-plan. The front is harled, with the western gable and the yard wall along Church Street displaying contrasting painted margins, along with a canted single-storey addition. The eastern return gable is constructed of rubble. The northern elevation includes two flat-roofed wallhead dormers. The windows are primarily timber sash and case with plate glass glazing. The building has 19th-century masonry end stacks, a slate roof, and a pottery ridge.
