Description
18 Barbank Street in Portsoy is an early 19th-century, two-storey house with a dormerless attic and three bays. The exterior is rendered and features a lined finish with dummy ribbon pointing, while the rear is harled. It has a basecourse and painted margins. The central entrance has a double-leaf panelled door topped with a fanlight that includes a letterbox. There is an enlarged ground floor window on the right side. The front sash and case windows have modern 12-pane glazing, and the rear displays a varied glazing pattern. The house has end stacks, modern Velux roof lights, and a slate roof.
At the northwest corner, there is a small single-storey and attic extension, which is a single bay and constructed of harled rubble. This building, likely a former baiting shed or fishing net store, has a gable entry with a small attic window above and a single window on the street elevation. It features a wallhead stack and a slate roof.
