Description
Portsoy Station, built in 1884, is a single-storey building with a gabled double cruciform plan, entirely covered in weatherboarding. The long elevation faces the former railway line and features paired projecting gables that flank a former canopied waiting area, which has been sensitively infilled with weatherboarded cladding and a long glazed wallhead light. The north elevation also has paired advanced gables. The long windows have 2-pane glazing, and some windows are partly blocked with weatherboarding, while retaining timber bracketed ledge canopies. The building has plain bargeboards, slender wooden apex finials, and a slate roof, along with a single coped masonry chimney stack.
