Description
4 Water Path in Banff is a mid 18th century house that may include some earlier elements. It is a 2-storey building with an attic and has an irregular three-bay layout, featuring a single bay return gable facing High Shore. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar chamfered margins. The entrance is off-centre, and the windows on the Water Path side are slightly irregular. There is one window on both the ground and first floors in the High Shore return bay, along with a small blocked opening. The house has two late 19th century canted wallhead dormers and features timber sash and case windows with 4-, 8-, 9-, and 12-pane glazing. A ridge stack is located at 11 High Shore, and the roofs are slate, pitched at an angle.
Inside, there is a rubble mural fireplace in the kitchen, but little else of interest remains.
