Barrack Block B, Gordon Barracks, Bridge Of Don, Aberdeen

Barrack Block B at Gordon Barracks in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, was designed by J and W Wittet around 1935. This building is two stories high and features a seven-bay layout, with a wider, advanced central bay that has a crowstepped gable and an apex stack. The structure is made of squared granite rubble, with rock-faced base courses, finely tooled ashlar dressings, and long and short quoins. The entrance is located off-centre to the left of the wide central bay, which has two windows to the left and three above. The outer bays contain windows arranged in pairs. All windows are narrow and have multi-pane sash and case glazing. At the rear, the entrance features straight skews and a stack on the eastern side, topped with a slate roof.
