West Lodge, Mourne Park Estate, Off Tullyframe Road, Kilkeel, Newry, Co Down, BT34 4RY

Single storey / two bay lodge, with additional third bay, aligned W-E within the estate boundary, on east side of White Water River. Pitched concrete tiled roof, hipped to west and gabled to east. Two painted cement rendered chimneys, one on party wall between first and second bays (from left) and second on east gable. Overhanging eaves with modern barge and eaves boards, and sheeted soffit. Modern plastic rainwater goods. South facing façade is painted rubble stone to first and second bays and third is smooth rendered. First bay has a modern door and modern casement widow, with painted granite cill. Second bay has a single similar window and third bay has a modern door. All opening have metal security grilles over. Left gable is abutted by a single storey lean-to extension. Exposed wall to left has a small casement window. West wall of return is blank and each cheek has a small modern casement. Rear elevation has a small modern casement to each bay. Right elevation is blank. A low granite rubble wall encloses front garden. To west, running parallel with the river, is the estate boundary wall with gate piers to a ford (for wall see HB 16/05/066). The mass concrete piers of a four-span footbridge over the river and steps up to it on east side remain, but all the timberwork of its four horizontal spans is gone.
