Description

A one-storey/ three-bay dwelling with rear annex, just inside eastern boundary wall to Mourne Park demesne. Pitched natural slate roof with clay ridge tiles. Smooth rendered and concrete-coped chimney between first and second bays. Half-round plastic rainwater goods. Walls of whitewashed lime dash over random rubble with projecting eaves course. Principal elevation faces south to lane into demesne. Painted sheeted timber entrance door at left. To each bay at right is a pair of 2x2 windows (right hand one of each pair is a casement). All windows have external wooden shutters and painted granite cills. Left gable abutted by a narrow one-storey lean-to. Natural slate roof and half-round plastic rainwater goods. Wall facing to west has two pairs of 1/1 casements (sharing a common granite cill). Both cheeks blank. Rear elevation is completely abutted by a slightly lower one-storey annex, the roof and walls of which are similar to front block (but without chimney). It is unclear whether this annex is contemporary with the front block or a more recent addition. Its rear elevation has a sheeted timber door at both ends, between which are three pairs of shuttered windows (all 1/1, with casement at right). Right cheek of annex has a large single-pane shuttered window. Right gable of main block (as viewed from front) and left gable of annex (as viewed from back) are blank and form part of boundary wall. Back garden accessed on left side of house through a wrought-iron gate between a pair of finely dressed square granite pillars (with oversailing pyramidal granite caps). Garden enclosed by random rubble granite wall.
