House, Adj to 62 Ballymageogh Road, Kilkeel, Newry, Co Down, BT34 4SX

Single storey/ two bay house with porch, set to west of, and perpendicular to, Ballymageogh Road. Pitched natural slate roof with blue clay ridge and terracotta verge tiles. Single rendered chimney on party wall. Semicircular cast iron rainwater goods. Walls are whitewashed (original ochre limewash visible). There are projecting stones in the ground to left of front elevation (unfinished extension?) Main elevation faces south east. At left end is a gabled porch with plain timber bargeboards. Pair of timber casements with fixed two pane transom above and granite cill to gable end of porch. Single-step leads to front door, on right cheek. Door is four panelled painted timber (top two panels are oval headed and glazed with patterned glass and bottom two raised and fielded. To right of porch, on left bay, is a single window as porch. There is an identical window to right bay. Left and right gables blank. Rear elevation wall is as façade with a 2/2 sliding sash window with horns on right bay. Left bay is blank. On right side of façade to front and rear are two pairs of granite piers with whitewashed pyramidal caps, both with metal gates. That to the front of the house is flat wrought iron. That to rear is painted corrugated iron on steel framing. Parallel with the façade is a random rubble stone wall with a pair of granite posts in line with main entrance (some original ironmongery survive).
