Description

Low single storey lodge, much altered and extended, on west boundary of the former grounds to Mourne Wood. Aligned N-S with its entrance to the southern gable, where original drive runs W-E. Pitched artificial slate roof with concrete coped chimney on north gable; abutting east pitch of main ridge is similar outshot running W-E with a ridge the same height and a similar chimney breaking its ridge. Abutting to its north pitch and abutting the remaining east pitch of main block is a lower pitched roof running N-S. It also has a chimney breaking its gable. Plastic rainwater goods. Walls are pebble dashed over a smooth rendered basecourse. All windows and doors are plastic with thin concrete cills (unless otherwise stated). Abutting south gable of main block is a porch with hipped artificial slate roof and walls as main block. It has a part glazed door on its front and a 1/1 top hung casement window on each cheek. Remaining wall of gable is blank. West elevation of main block has two windows, that to left is a linear three paned casement and that to right is as those to porch but with granite cill. East elevation is abutted by a return block to left and by the second block to right. The south elevation of the first return block has a 1/1 top hung casement (granite cill), with an electricity metre box to its right. Its east gable is blank and its north elevation is abutted by the second return. This second return advances beyond the main block to the north. Its east wall has a modern door and two 1/1 top hung casement windows. Its north (rear) gable is blank. North gable of main block is abutted by a flat roofed extension with a modern two paned linear window to its west wall. Its north wall is blank and its east wall abuts the second return on the main block.
