Dwelling, Off Glassdrumman Rd, Annalong, Newry, Co Down, BT34 4NQ

This is a single-roomed dwelling, likely dating from the later 19th century, between 1860 and 1879. Local tradition suggests it was a stonecutter’s house. The building is constructed of roughly dressed and snecked granite blocks, a distinction from the random rubble more typical of earlier constructions. It is a single-storey, one-bay structure facing southeast, topped by a gabled corrugated metal roof with a stone chimney on the right gable. The south-facing façade, which looks toward the sea, features a central door flanked by windows on either side. The window to the right is a 2/2 sliding sash, and all windows have dressed granite sills. There are no openings on the gables or rear elevation. A lean-to outhouse, built of coursed granite fieldstones and squared rubble, is attached to the right gable. The building first appears on the 1891 Ordnance Survey map, indicating a construction date after 1859. It is currently in private ownership and noted as vernacular in style; it was previously recorded as derelict.
