Gate Piers and Wall, Spring Grove, Rosslea, Co. Fermanagh, BT92 7DN

The site includes a sandstone wall with gate piers, forming an attractive roadside feature leading to Spring Grove house and farmyard. The wall dates to circa 1840-1859.

The wall is primarily roughly dressed sandstone, with dressed saddle stones and pitched copings. It runs west to east and curves with the road, terminating in a perpendicular gate screen. A square-section pillar with a pyramidal cap is located approximately three-quarters along the length of the wall, and a similar pillar stands at the southern end of the gate screen. The gate piers are octagonal, featuring recessed elongated panels with curved heads. They are topped with decorative domed caps, which are set on a slightly advanced base with squared panels. The original gates are missing.

A drive leading into the estate is visible on an Ordnance Survey map from 1857. The gates and screen were likely erected in the 1840s or 1850s.
