Rosslea Primary School, Tattinbarr, Rosslea, Co Fermanagh, BT92 7QG

Rosslea Primary School, located in Tattinbar, near Rosslea, County Fermanagh, was originally constructed between 1840 and 1859, with a datestone indicating erection in 1852, though possibly inscribed in 1855. The building was a single-story school, demolished in 1989. It comprised a projecting central gable flanked by side bays. The front elevation featured a central gable with three lights grouped within diamond-framed windows, set within a bevel surround and semicircular heads, with a higher central light. An inscribed panel near the apex was marked ‘School AD 1852’ (or 1855). Recent square steel casement windows were present in the side bays, and sheeted entrance doors were positioned in each end gable, also with bevel surrounds. The walls were constructed of roughly dressed snecked sandstone rubble with finer dressings and dressed quoins. A first survey card dated September 27, 1972, noted the building was in fair condition and had a frontage of approximately 50 feet. The building was formerly used as a school and is now demolished; it is held in private ownership and is not listed.
