Bridge, Lisnaskea Road, Rosslea, Co Fermanagh

This is a small-scale bridge located on the Lisnaskea Road near Rosslea, County Fermanagh. Constructed sometime between 1840 and 1859, it first appears on the 1857 Ordnance Survey 6-inch map. The bridge features a single semicircular span carrying a two-lane road over a stream. It is built of dressed sandstone, with the voussoirs (the wedge-shaped stones forming the arch) also of dressed sandstone. The remainder of the bridge is constructed from dressed sandstone blocks laid in courses. The parapets have saddleback copings, and their ends curve downwards in quarter turns. The upstream (north) parapet has suffered some damage, with stones dislodged by a car, and includes a recess to allow access for a metal pipe that crosses the face of the parapet. While the bridge has no particular architectural merit, it possesses industrial archaeological interest.
