Bridge over River Finn, Rosslea and Tattinbarr, Co Fermanagh

This is a small-scale bridge spanning the River Finn, located near Rosslea and Tattinbarr in County Fermanagh. Built between 1820 and 1839, it carries a one-and-a-half lane road over the river via three semicircular arches. The bridge is constructed with finely dressed sandstone voussoirs. The abutments and spandrels are built from large dressed sandstone blocks laid to courses, while angled cutwaters, similarly detailed, rise to the level of the arch crown on both sides. The parapets are of random rubble, coped with large, often rusticated, sandstone blocks; the downstream (eastern) parapet has been rebuilt. Metal pipes are carried across both faces of the bridge. The bridge’s design and construction are typical, but it possesses industrial archaeological interest. The structure appears on the 1834 and 1857 Ordnance Survey maps.
