150 Killinchy Road, Lisbane, Killinchy, Co Down, BT23 5NE

This is a small, single-storey house located on the east side of Killinchy Road, approximately three miles north of Killinchy village. The house likely dates back before 1834 and was shown on Ordnance Survey maps of both 1834 and 1859-60. According to valuation records from around 1835, the “house and office” was then occupied by an Andrew Johnston.

The building has undergone significant modernisation and alterations in recent years, resulting in a rather plain appearance. The front, west-facing facade features a centrally positioned glazed door, with a modern window to the left and two to the right. The gable ends are blank. A large, single-storey, flat-roofed extension dominates the rear of the property and incorporates modern windows and a door. The facade is covered in pebbledash render. The main roof is gabled and covered with asbestos-free slates, and features three small brick chimney stacks with PVC rainwater goods. Two wells are located to the rear.

The thatched roof was removed in 1984, and the large rear extension appears to have been added in stages starting in the 1970s. Although the building retains some vernacular characteristics, it is not considered to have significant architectural or historical interest. The building is privately owned and not listed.
