31 Islandview Road, Killinchy, Co Down, BT23 6TJ

This is a single-storey house likely dating before 1834, situated on a rise on the southwest side of Islandview Road, less than a mile southeast of Killinchy village. The house has been extensively modernised.

The front, or south, facade features a centrally positioned modern open porch with a shallow pitched gabled roof. Within the porch is a timber-panelled entrance door. To the left of the door are three modern windows, with a similar window to the right. A bow window is positioned slightly left of centre on the east gable, while the west gable is blank. The rear elevation is divided into two distinct sections, with the eastern half projecting. This projecting section has two modern windows of varying sizes on either side of a modern glazed door. The right-hand section of the rear has two similar windows, also of varying sizes. The entire building is finished with rough cast and painted, and the roof, which slopes unevenly to the west, is covered in pan tiles with a slight overhang. A single brick chimney is located on the south side of the roof ridge, and the roof has been slightly raised. The rainwater goods are of PVC material. The area surrounding the house has been concreted.

An Ordnance Survey map from 1834 shows a building on the site, but without the projecting rear section, which is depicted on the revised map of 1859-60. The thatch was removed around the 1980s, followed by a complete modernisation of the house. Valuation records from 1861 indicate the house was then leased by a Matthew Wilson from John Cleland of Stormont.
