Description

This is a road bridge over the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal, built in 1827 and restored in the late 20th century, designed by engineer James Hollinworth. The bridge is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with saddle back coping and features a single span. On the south side, there is a towpath retaining wall, and cast iron fenders are present at the bridge's abutments on the towpath. The canal was closed in 1911. This bridge is part of a notable group of bridges along the canal.
