6/79 Bridge over canal at NGR ST 2727 2551

Road bridge over Bridgewater and Taunton canal. 1827, restored late C20, Engineer James Hollinworth. Red brick, Flemish bond, saddle back coping. Single span. Tow path retaining wall on South site, cast iron fenders to abutments of bridge on towpath. The canal closed 1911. Part of a good group of bridges along the canal.
