Description
Curvalion House and St Patric's is a house, now divided, built around 1830. It features a rendered exterior that mimics ashlar over a brick structure, topped with a hipped slate roof covered in bitumen and brick stacks on the right side. The building has a double pile plan and stands two stories tall with three bays. The central bay, which has a pediment, projects slightly forward. On the first floor, there is a blank window opening to the left, while the other windows are 9-pane sash windows. The ground floor has 12-pane sash windows, all equipped with blind boxes. A central porch, fluted in the Greek Doric style, has double doors that are half glazed with marginal glazing bars and a rectangular light above. To the left, there is a single-storey, one-bay unlit block that projects outward, and a long left return with four bays, which forms the garden front. This side is only partially visible and likely features a verandah that overlooks the river and canal to the south. The interior has not been seen. The house was constructed between 1815 and 1838.
