Description

The Creech St Michael War Memorial is a First World War memorial that was built in 1922, with additional inscriptions added after the Second World War. The memorial is made from granite and features a Celtic-style wheel cross mounted on a square plinth that has a two-stepped base. It stands on a square slab. The front (east) face of the plinth is inscribed with the words: "TO THE MEMORY OF THE MEN/ OF THIS PARISH WHO FELL IN THE/ GREAT WAR 1914-1918./ (NAMES)." Just below this, on the upper step, is the inscription: "SECOND WORLD WAR 1939-1949./ (NAMES)."
