Description
The Elms and The Retreat are a pair of early 19th-century houses located on Wellington Road. They are two storeys high and have a roughcast exterior, set back from the road. The front features two slightly projecting wings with pediment gables, and between them is a trellis verandah. The side elevations also have a similar trellis treatment around the door openings, which are topped with segmental arches. The houses have a slate roof and four windows, with wood casements that have ornamental glazing bars, but this detail applies only to The Elms.
