Description

This boundary marker, dating from the late 19th century, is made of cast iron and has a triangular plan with a sloping top. It stands about 400 millimeters high and measures 200 millimeters across. The marker features raised letters on the left side inscribed with 'TTC' for Taunton Town Council, while the right side is blank. The angled head of the marker is inscribed with the word 'Boundary'. This marker indicates the boundary between the former Taunton Municipal Borough and the Taunton Rural District Council, with the parish boundary of Bishop's Hull having been redrawn in 1885.
