Description

This is an unidentified chest tomb from the 18th century, located about 9 metres south of the nave of the Church of St. Catherine in Montacute. It is made of Ham stone and features a moulded plinth. Each face of the tomb has one fielded panel with reverse curve corners, and panelled carved pilasters on the sides. There is no frieze, and the flat top is covered with moulded coving. Unfortunately, there are no legible inscriptions on the tomb.
