Description

An unidentified chest tomb from the early 18th century is located about 10 metres south of the nave of the Church of St. Catherine in Montacute. It is made of Ham stone and features a moulded plinth. The tomb has panels framed with ovolo moulding, with one panel at each end and two on each side, complemented by panelled pilasters on the flanks. The hipped top is adorned with deep moulded coving and rounded leading edges. The inscriptions on the tomb are not legible.
